Job summary

D.H. Griffin Infrastructure, part of the D.H. Griffin Companies, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support civil infrastructure projects across the Southeast.

You will assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily management, reporting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination on mass grading, utilities, and site development. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and professional growth while providing opportunities to advance within a respected heavy civil

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of site work and grading experience, with supervisory responsibility.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Strong communication and organizational skills essential for field coordination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required; familiarity with construction software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and Superintendents in daily management and execution of civil infrastructure projects.
• Maintain accurate records of project progress, including tracking labor, equipment, and materials.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, cost estimates, and documentation for contract pay applications.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and material deliveries to help ensure projects stay on schedule.
• Participate in quality control inspections for site grading and pipe installation.
• Maintain and update as-built drawings and track submittals throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with scheduling, expediting, and coordination of trucking and other subcontractors.
• Conduct and document weekly safety meetings and daily toolbox talks to promote a safe work environment.
• Operate heavy equipment and perform manual labor as needed, following proper training.
• Communicate project status, production updates, and any issues to the Project Manager regularly.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with blueprints and contract documents.
• Safely navigate and work within active construction sites, including uneven or challenging terrain.
