Job summary

Flowtec Construction in Chicago is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project managers from preconstruction through closeout. You will handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and documentation, while assisting with budgets, schedules, cost tracking, and reporting.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in project engineering or AP Mgmt, with strong communication and organizational skills, and a desire to advance to a Project Manager role.

We're partnered with a leading Chicago real estate Developer and General Contractor that's looking to add an Assistant Project Manager as they continue to grow their construction team and development pipeline.

What makes this opportunity unique is the exposure you'll gain beyond a traditional GC environment. With development and construction working under the same roof, you'll see how projects come together from the early stages of planning and design through construction and final turnover. It creates a more collaborative process, quicker decision-making, and the opportunity to understand the entire lifecycle of a development.

Their portfolio consists primarily of multifamily, high-rise, mixed-use, and other large-scale residential projects, with construction values typically ranging from $5M–$100M. They have a stable pipeline of upcoming work throughout Chicagoland and have been behind several high-profile developments across the market.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support Project Managers from preconstruction through project closeout
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
• Assist with budgets, schedules, cost tracking, and project reporting

What They're Looking For:

• 2+ years of Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager experience
• General Contractor experience preferred
• Multifamily experience is NOT required — they're open to candidates from a variety of construction backgrounds
• Ground-up construction experience is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Someone looking to take on more responsibility and progress into a Project Manager role
• $90K–$110K base salary + bonus potential
