Job summary

Epicus Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Northern California to support all phases of capital projects for life sciences, energy and government sectors. You will coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and city officials to ensure scope, budget, and schedule conformance while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role involves procurement support, design and construction oversight, and active participation in project planning, execution, and close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, or related field.
• PMP Certified Project Manager with proven leadership.
• CCM or LEED AP certification a plus.
• Experience with real estate development lifecycle and entitlement processes.

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of capital projects from planning through close-out, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule adherence.
• Assist with stakeholder engagement, needs assessments, and business case development to define project goals.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and city officials.
• Support procurement, evaluating proposals, negotiating contracts, and issuing purchase orders.
• Assist in preparing project execution plans, kick-off meetings, and ongoing project communications.
• Oversee design/construct phases, including drawings, bid docs, contractor coordination, and approvals.
• Provide construction administration support: meetings, RFIs, submittals, cost control, schedule management, FF&E, and contractor performance.
• Track budgets and schedules with web-based controls; analyze risks and implement mitigations.
• Assist in value engineering studies with owners and design teams to meet objectives.
• Support project administration: forecasting, invoicing, progress draws, issue resolution, and decisions.
• Coordinate architect reviews of contractor/site activities for compliance with docs and standards.
• Observe construction activities and escalate issues as needed.
• Document project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with PMs and teams to achieve milestones and accountability.
• Support project close-out with deliverables, documentation, and financial reconciliation.
• Support business development with RFQ/RFP responses, proposals, interviews, and negotiations.
• Represent the company at industry events to strengthen brand and opportunities.

Education
