Job summary

Stratus, a multidisciplinary engineering and design firm, seeks an Assistant Project Manager in New York, NY. You will oversee investigations related to building envelopes, façades, and surrounding site conditions, coordinating field and office activities with staff.

The role requires coordinating with teams, reviewing reports, and ensuring timely project completion. The position is based in Manhattan with moderate travel; 3–6 years in building assessment and project management is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or applicable work experience.
• 3–6 years of building assessment and/or design for existing buildings.
• Direct experience with project and staff management and development.
• Ability to delegate project tasks to direct reports.
• Experience with existing-building forensic structural framing.
• Ability to perform field investigations, structural analysis, repair design, documentation, and construction administration.
• Based in Manhattan, NY with moderate travel and a valid driver's license.
• Preferred: experience with parking structures and Local Law 126 work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical and administrative aspects of façade/roofing service opportunities from proposal to final acceptance by client.
• Review design/analysis specifications and calculations for accuracy and updates.
• Ensure contractors adhere to contract documents and prepare summary documentation.
• Review technical reports for clarity and accuracy.
• Maintain project schedules, change orders and budgets; coordinate staffing for each project.
• Mentor new team members on processes, policies, safety, and time reporting.
