Qualifications

• 1-5+ years as a construction Project Engineer or Assistant PM.
• Experience in construction environments, ideally with a general contractor.
• Experience with project coordination activities, including change orders and RFIs.
• Strong attention to detail in project documentation and coordination.
• Ability to work with urgency and meet deadlines.

• Support estimating of project scope and costs for budgets.
• Coordinate activities with subcontractors and follow-up on deliverables.
• Communicate professionally with owners, vendors, subcontractors, and design team.

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on with Project Managers in all phases and aspects of construction projects, from planning through completion.
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating overall project schedules to ensure timely progress.
• Participate in the buy-out of subcontractors to confirm full scope coverage and achieve cost savings within required timeframes.
• Ensure all project documents are complete, current, accurate, and properly stored for easy access and compliance.
• Assist in the preparation, review, and issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Monitor project milestones and completion dates, helping to keep the project on track and proactively addressing delays.
• Support the estimating of project scope and costs, providing input and analysis to help develop accurate budgets.
• Assist in managing projects with subcontractors, including coordination of activities and follow-up on deliverables.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with project stakeholders such as owners, vendors, subcontractors, and the design team.
• Seek opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships through responsive service and quality project delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the project team and overall project success.

Essential Skills

• 1-5+ years of experience as a construction Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager.
• Demonstrated experience with strong tenure in construction, preferably with a general contractor.
• Experience in project management within construction environments.
• Knowledge of construction processes and construction management practices.
• Experience with project coordination activities, including change orders and requests for information (RFIs).
• Strong attention to detail in all aspects of project documentation and coordination.
• Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency and meet deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in a related field preferred, such as construction management or civil engineering.
• Experience working on projects with multiple subcontractors and diverse project teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with owners, vendors, subcontractors, and design professionals.
• Commitment to client service and continuous improvement in project delivery.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Towson, MD.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $48.07/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
