Job summary

TAKNEK LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Industrial Construction Division. Based in the DFW Metroplex, this role will support projects across Texas and involve field and project-management duties to develop into a full Project Manager.

Ideal candidates bring construction experience, willingness to travel throughout Texas, and a drive to manage budgets, schedules, and commissioning activities alongside Project Managers and field teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction experience as an APM, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role.
• Industrial, heavy civil, municipal, water/wastewater, or infrastructure construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, procurement, and construction documentation.
• Basic understanding of project cost control, scheduling, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple industrial construction projects throughout Texas.
• Manage and track RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders, and project documentation.
• Review drawings and specifications and identify coordination or scope issues.
• Coordinate with PMs, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and owners.
• Assist with subcontractor buyout, scope review, purchase orders, and procurement.
• Track long-lead equipment and material deliveries.
• Assist with project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, billing, and change management.
• Support project schedules, look-ahead planning, and milestone tracking.
• Regularly visit jobsites and coordinate directly with field teams.
• Participate in owner/engineer and subcontractor meetings.
• Support testing, startup, commissioning, punch lists, and project closeout.
• Identify project risks and follow assigned issues through resolution.

Assistant Project Manager - Industrial Construction

Position Overview

TAKNEK LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) for our Industrial Construction Division. This position is based in the DFW Metroplex and will support TAKNEK projects throughout Texas.

Our projects include water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, tanks, process facilities, underground utilities, process piping, concrete structures, mechanical equipment, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

The APM will work across multiple projects with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clients.

We are looking for someone with construction experience who wants to develop into a strong Project Manager and is comfortable being involved in both the field and project management sides of construction.

We want an APM who takes ownership, follows issues through completion, understands what is happening in the field, and wants to learn the financial and commercial side of construction.

This is not intended to be a paperwork-only position. The goal is to develop this person into a Project Manager capable of independently running industrial construction projects.
