This is not an entry-level APM role; the ideal candidate has 3–5 years of commercial construction experience, with a degree in Construction Management or engineering, and a track record of advancing toward Project Management.

Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction - Texas

Already doing more than a Project Engineer - but not getting the opportunity to step up?

A well-established commercial construction business in Texas is looking for an Assistant Project Manager who is already taking ownership of real project responsibilities and is ready to continue progressing toward a full Project Manager position.

This is not an entry-level APM role and isn't designed for someone still learning the basics.

The business has a strong preference for developing people internally, making this an opportunity for someone who has already built solid commercial construction experience and is ready for the next stage of their career.

What You'll Be Working On

You'll support the delivery of ground-up commercial and industrial construction projects, working closely with project leadership, Superintendents, subcontractors, owners and architects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of defined project packages
• Managing RFIs and submittals
• Supporting procurement and subcontractor coordination
• Tracking costs and managing change orders
• Working with field teams to keep projects moving
• Communicating with owners, architects and subcontractors
• Taking responsibility for significant elements of project delivery

This is a role where you'll be expected to understand how projects are actually built and managed, not simply keep paperwork moving.

The Package

$100,000-$120,000 base salary, depending on experience
