Job summary

Axis Talent Group is partnering with a commercial general contractor in the DC area to hire an Assistant Project Manager for its Reston, VA office. This early-career PM role provides hands-on exposure from preconstruction through closeout on ground-up projects.

You'll coordinate RFIs, submittals, budgets and schedules, manage subcontractor communications, and support project delivery. You’ll work with project managers, superintendents, owners, and trade partners; Procore experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction experience with a general contractor.
• Experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or early-career PM.
• Ability to read drawings, stay organized, and follow through.
• Interest in taking greater ownership of project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Help coordinate projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and subcontractor communication.
• Support estimating, subcontractor buyout, budgets, schedules, and change orders.

Axis Talent Group is partnering with a commercial general contractor to hire an Assistant Project Manager or early-career Project Manager for its Reston office. The company’s work includes ground-up commercial construction, retail, corporate interiors, and renovations.

Who you’ll learn from

One of the company’s partners previously served as Director of Construction Projects at James G. Davis and brings experience delivering prominent projects across the Washington, DC market. Now in his second year leading the business, he offers an experienced perspective for an APM looking to strengthen their skills in project planning, financial management, subcontractor coordination, and client relationships.

What you’ll do:

• Help coordinate projects from preconstruction through closeout.
