About CORE CFX
CORE CFX is a licensed NYC general contractor delivering high-end residential and commercial renovation and construction management. We are building the firm around a simple idea: renovation should be a frictionless experience for the client. That means clear communication, real systems, and a team that takes ownership. We are investing heavily in our digital platform (JobTread) and the people who make projects run.
The Role
We are hiring our first full-time Assistant Project Manager. This person will be the connective tissue between our field operations and our office — making sure projects stay on schedule, on scope, and to spec, and that everything is documented cleanly in our systems. You will report directly to the Principal and work closely with our project coordinators, subcontractors, and clients. This is a role designed to grow. The clear path is APM Project Manager Director of Operations as the company scales.
How You'll Spend Your Time
- Roughly 50% in the field visiting active project sites across NYC — walkthroughs, quality checks, coordinating with subs and site staff.
- Roughly 50% in our Forest Hills office — planning, documentation, client communication, and running our project management platform.
What You'll Do
- Track project schedules and flag slippage before it becomes a problem.
- Perform site walkthroughs to verify quality, workmanship, and adherence to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors on scheduling, material deliveries, and scope of work.
- Support the client communication process — status updates, meeting notes, and portal management through JobTread.
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily logs.
- Keep our project documentation organized and current in our PM platform.
- Escalate issues to the Principal early and with proposed solutions.
- Contribute to refining our internal processes — we are still building, and your input matters.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in NYC residential or commercial renovation (GC, CM, owner's rep, or field supervision).
- Comfortable using project management software (JobTread, Procore, Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Fieldwire, or similar). JobTread experience is a plus but not required — we will train.
- OSHA 30. SST card is a plus, or willingness to obtain one.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong written and verbal communication — you can hold your own in front of a client, an architect, and a sub on the same day.
- Detail-oriented and systems-minded. You like checklists and documented processes, not chaos.
- Comfortable moving between a jobsite and a Zoom meeting without missing a beat.
- Bonus points for co-op / condo experience, DOB or Landmarks familiarity, or a CM / architecture / engineering background.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary (see tiers above) plus performance bonus.
- A clear growth path to Project Manager and beyond.
- Direct access to leadership — small team, real ownership, no bureaucracy.
- Investment in your training, certifications, and tools.
- Hybrid schedule based out of our Forest Hills office.
