Job summary

Upward On is seeking a Project Manager to join its growing construction team in South Brooklyn, NY. You will manage projects from bid to completion, visit sites across Brooklyn and the tri-state area, coordinate subcontractors, track budgets, and report to ownership.

You will work in the office and in the field, with training from ownership and opportunities for career advancement in a stable, team-oriented company.

Qualifications

  • 1–5+ years of construction or project management experience.
  • Experience with residential, multifamily, REO, rehab, or general contracting projects preferred.
  • Comfortable working both in the field and in the office.
  • Ability to read construction plans, scopes of work, and project specifications.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from bid through final completion.
  • Visit project sites in Brooklyn and beyond.
  • Conduct site walks and assess scope, timelines, and requirements.
  • Assist with estimates, budgets, and pricing for renovation projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
  • Monitor project schedules and costs to maintain profitability.
  • Work closely with ownership on planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Maintain communication with clients, vendors, inspectors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues early to prevent timeline impacts.

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing construction company specializing in the renovation, rehabilitation, and management of REO (Real Estate Owned) assets throughout the New York City area. They are seeking a Project Manager who is eager to learn, willing to roll up their sleeves, and excited to grow alongside ownership. The role is based in South Brooklyn, and requires both working in the office, as well as in the field visiting sites (transportation will be provided - you need a driver's license.)

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with construction project management experience—or an emerging PM looking to take the next step in their career. The company is willing to train the right individual who demonstrates strong work ethic, accountability, and a genuine desire to learn the business from the ground up.

What You'll Do
  • Manage construction projects from initial bid through final completion

What We're Looking For
  • 1–5+ years of construction, renovation, property maintenance, or project management experience
  • Experience with residential, multifamily, REO, rehab, restoration, or general contracting projects is highly preferred
  • Comfortable working both in the field and in the office
  • Ability to read construction plans, scopes of work, and project specifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and follow-through
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented
  • Valid driver's license a must
  • You will travel all over the tri-state area (company car/reimbursement)
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the organization
