Job Description:

The Assistant Project Manager's skills include the ability to comprehend the significance of the Project as it is related to the company/department goals. Equally important is the ability to support the Project Manager map out the strategy, organization, and analysis of the data required to achieve the project’s success and desired results.

The Assistant project manager will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager with planning the successful delivery of long-term and/or complex projects or programs for our Design/Product Development and ERP systems, as it relates to our PLM system and cross-functional processes.

Must have a solid understanding of how to define processes and an ability to coordinate/execute various software operational needs to achieve goals.

Summary of some duties and responsibilities

  • Create, coordinate cross-functionally, and implement policies and procedures for all new projects
  • Creates project calendars, and ensures status updates, approvals, and feedback are managed to meet deadlines.
  • Timely resolve issues and maintain documentation, testing, and resolution of open tickets as it relates to the ERP interface with Centric.
  • Determine methods for the collection of information useful for achieving company business goals
  • Always ensure the adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data
  • Define and implement procedures for sharing information/as-needed reports with the leadership team and external stakeholders as needed
  • Extract reports and data when needed or as requested
  • Support others in the daily use of PLM system, Costing, Centric/factories, and Interface with ERP system
  • Onboard, train, and troubleshoot all employees on Centric and new projects/programs as needed
  • Implement effective and secure SOPs and/or training manuals for all projects, while consistently striving for Optimization and improvement of the company process.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards when developing SOPs
  • Monitor and analyze workflows across the divisions for consistency

Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively complete multiple tasks concurrently and deliver quality results under time constraints
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present technical issues to a non-technical group
  • Excellent understanding of administration, training, and internal workflows
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), PLM systems (Centric preferred) and A2000 ERP as it applies
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
  • Knowledge and understanding of the product development process and the function of each role on the team.

This individual will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager on a single large project, several smaller projects, or a combination at any given time

The Assistant Project Manager will act as the project liaison between the Project Manager and Global IT, business partners/vendors, and both internal users and external teams as needed

Ability to professionally develop department SMEs and collaboratively co-manage projects with Super Users/SMEs
