Job summary

JMMechanical in Logan, Utah is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our Project Management and Operations team. You will work alongside project managers, executives, and field leadership to keep commercial HVAC projects organized, on schedule, and within budget, gaining hands-on experience in coordination, scheduling, BIM/Revit, materials, cost tracking, and field operations.

Qualifications

• Degree or technical education or relevant experience in construction management or related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• Ability to work effectively with office and field teams.
• Willingness to learn construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Project Executives with planning and coordinating commercial HVAC projects.
• Support project scheduling, milestone tracking, and daily project activities.
• Work with field foremen and crews to keep projects on schedule and meet expectations.
• Assist with Revit and Stratus drafting, 3D modeling, shop drawings, and project updates.
• Help coordinate HVAC designs with other trades and identify conflicts before installation.
• Assist with material take-offs, equipment counts, and procurement.
• Track equipment and material deliveries to ensure crews have what they need.
• Monitor labor productivity and project costs against budgets.
• Assist with submittals and RFIs.
• Help maintain project documentation, daily logs, meeting minutes, progress reports, and other records.
• Support project managers with billing, change orders, scheduling, and other needs.
• Communicate with project teams, engineers, architects, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve project workflows and efficiency.
