Job summary

Transitions Mental Health Association seeks an Assistant Program Manager for the Central Coast Hotline and Crisis Dispatch in San Luis Obispo. This full-time role includes after-hours on-call responsibilities and supervising Crisis Line Specialists and the Lead Crisis Line Specialist.

You will support mobile crisis dispatch, daily operations, staff guidance, training, and collaboration with health systems and community partners.

Qualifications

• Education or experience in human services, crisis services, behavioral health or related field.
• Experience providing leadership, coaching, training, facilitation, or shift coordination; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of crisis-line services, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, and postvention; training preferred.
• Willingness to complete required program; trauma-informed and person-centered practices emphasized.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor suicide prevention efforts and training.
• Lead, facilitate, and coordinate support groups for attempt survivors.
• Serve as the primary operational resource for dispatch questions and escalations during assigned hours.
• Oversee Mobile Crisis Team Dispatch operations and handoffs.
• Provide dispatch quality assurance, training, and updates to materials and workflows.
• Coordinate trainings of evidence-based suicide prevention curricula (ASIST, QPR).
• Provide scheduled Hotline coverage and on-call support as needed.
• Maintain detailed call logs and adhere to call center protocols.
• Attend trainings and meetings; communicate with supervisor; promote trauma-informed practices.
