Job summary

Lantern Community Services in Brooklyn, NY, seeks an Assistant Program Director to partner with the Program Director in managing services for formerly homeless individuals and clients with complex needs. You will supervise the case management team, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive learning-focused program operations with a strong emphasis on DEI.

In the absence of the Program Director, you may direct staff during evenings, weekends, and holidays, coordinating with multiple care providers

Qualifications

• MSW or MHC degree required; license within one year preferred
• Minimum one year of supervisory experience in social services
• Three+ years in social services, housing, or shelter settings
• Supervisory/management experience with strong clinical skills
• Experience with harm reduction and working with diverse populations
• Experience using databases to document and report on client services

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and coaching to the case management staff
• Lead program management efforts in partnership with the Program Director
• Review documentation to ensure high quality care and standards
• Conduct internal chart reviews in collaboration with leadership
• Review dashboards and reports to track outcomes and progress
• Lead staff interviews and support housing stability and safety planning
• Promote DEI and inclusive practices within the program culture
• Assist with hiring, training, and disciplinary processes
• Support evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
