Job summary

Lantern Community Services in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Assistant Program Director to partner with the Program Director in overall program management. The role focuses on supervising the case management team and ensuring services meet regulatory standards while integrating diversity, equity, belonging, inclusion, and justice into the program culture.

The APD will be available outside regular hours as needed, supporting staff during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have MSW or MHC from an accredited school and obtain license within one year.
• Minimum one year supervisory experience in a social services setting.
• Minimum three years post-Master’s experience in social service, housing or emergency shelter.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills with teamwork abilities.
• Experience with harm reduction models when working with residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and coaching to the case management staff.
• Promote learning and professional development.
• Review and approve documentation by the case management team to ensure high standards of care.
• Conduct internal chart reviews with the Program Director.
• Review dashboards and monthly reports to track outcomes.
• Participate in staff interviews and assess residents’ needs for safe transition to housing.
• Develop supervision plans and accountability systems for reporting requirements.
• Support staff in safety planning and crisis de-escalation.
• Prepare and manage incident reports and reporting to funders.
