Job summary

Connecticut State Community College (CT State) seeks an Assistant Professor, Program Coordinator for the Willimantic location. The role combines teaching up to 30 credits annually with program coordination duties, including recruiting instructors, scheduling courses, and building community partnerships.

The position is on-site, tenure-track, 10-month, with anticipated Fall 2027 start and a priority deadline of October 14, 2026. A strong background in medical laboratory disciplines is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, MLS or CLS with national credentialing (MLT/MLS).
• Three years of practical laboratory experience.
• One year of college teaching experience (24+ credits).
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Teach 30 credit hours per academic year across assigned courses; deliver diverse formats (lecture, hybrid, online).
• Develop syllabi, reading lists, and up-to-date course materials; respond to students and colleagues.
• Support program reviews, accreditation activities, and curriculum development.
• Participate in program coordination duties: recruit, schedule courses, hire and evaluate faculty.
• Establish partnerships with local organizations; coordinate internships and employer engagement.
• Engage in service on committees and attend professional meetings as required.
