Job summary

Clayton Homes is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to coordinate all production departments and support a positive team experience. You will communicate with leaders, ensure safety and quality adherence, and drive performance improvements on the factory floor.

The role requires leading multiple teams, applying lean practices, and mentoring personnel to meet schedules while upholding safety and compliance standards at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years relevant management experience.
• Previous construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in manufactured housing is greatly desired.
• Must be detail-oriented and can multi-task effectively.
• Ability to read and understand home building specifications is desirable.
• Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Direct teams under the Production Manager to ensure timelines and priorities are met.
• Lead large groups and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Adhere to quality assurance and HUD building codes.
• Maintain a safety-first approach in all activities.
• Review production performance and identify training opportunities.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction for personnel development.
• Improve production processes using Lean, 6S, Kaizen and Six Sigma where applicable.
