Job summary

Graphic Packaging International is seeking an entry-level Press - 2nd Operator to assist the 1st Operator and ensure high-quality printing. The role supports color accuracy, proper registration, and efficient press operation at our Elk Grove Village facility.

You will help diagnose issues, maintain press equipment, and participate in routine setup tasks. The position requires flexibility for shifts, overtime, and weekend work, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Mechanical/technical aptitude.
• Entry level computer skills.
• Feeder/Operator experience required.
• Must be able to work all shifts, overtime and weekends.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English. Need basic math skills. Mechanical aptitude a plus. Must have working knowledge of a printing press.

Responsibilities

• Assist Press-1st Operator with maintaining quality of printed sheets.
• Assist the Press – 1st Operator with determining cause of printing problems and adjust press.
• Maintain water tank, ink fountain and blanket wash units.
• Assist in press-make readies: prepare materials for new printing jobs, clean press, replace plates.
• Perform duties of Press-1st Operator or Feeder when needed to keep press running.
• Assist with monthly Preventative Maintenance on the press.
