Job summary

City of Bartlett, Parks and Recreation Department, Singleton Community Center, seeks an Assistant Pre‑School Teacher for a part‑time, non‑benefits role at $15.84 per hour. The position supports daily activities and classroom organization for preschoolers.

ASSISTANT PRE-SCHOOL TEACHER
SALARY $15.84 PER HR
This is a part‑time position with no benefits.

Job Functions:

• Assists in the daily planning and execution of all classroom activities.
• Helps organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music and storytelling.
• Assists in teaching basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene and social skills.
• Assists in maintaining discipline in a preschool classroom in line with Singleton Preschool’s Education goals.
• Assists in keeping the classroom visually appealing, such as bulletin boards, displays, etc.
• Assists with all facets of preschool special events/activities, including working some nights and/or weekend dates.
• Other duties as assigned from higher management.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a high school graduate or have GED.
• Must love children and be able to relate to them.
• Must have experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
• Some college education courses and prior teaching experience is required.

Training and Experience:

• Ability to help plan, organize and implement activities for preschool children while maintaining order.
• Ability to recognize problems, identify their potential effect and develop alternative strategies for preventing or solving them.
• Ability to function independently, attend to detail, work under pressure and multi‑task.

Special Requirements:

• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or must obtain within 6 months.
• Must pass a background screen, driver’s license verification and physical exam, including a drug test.
