Job summary

Build Talent LLC is partnering with a national General Contractor to hire an Assistant Project Manager for commercial construction projects in Houston, TX. This full-time role supports Project Managers from preconstruction through closeout, with emphasis on tilt-wall and light industrial projects.

You will assist with scheduling, budgeting, RFIs, submittals, procurement, and coordination with subcontractors and internal teams, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 2–5+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with a General Contractor.
• Experience on ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Experience in tilt-wall, light industrial, warehouse/distribution, or manufacturing projects is desirable.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Support project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and overall project financial management.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
• Assist with subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and procurement activities.
• Monitor schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
• Support monthly billing, pay applications, cost forecasting, and budget reporting.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain communication between field operations and project management teams.
• Work with Superintendents to ensure project quality, safety, and scheduling objectives.
