Genie Matthews and Associates invites an Assistant Project Manager to join our heavy civil/highway team serving Virginia projects. You will support field crews, help manage submittals, RFIs, procurement, and coordination with subcontractors, with a path to running projects under senior PM mentorship.

The role targets candidates with 3+ years on heavy civil/VDOT DOT work, a civil engineering or construction management background, and a willingness to relocate within Virginia.

Competenze

• 3+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer or APM.
• VDOT or other DOT project experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and cost tracking.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
• HeavyJob, Bluebeam or P6 experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license.
• Based in Virginia or ready to relocate; relocation assistance available.

Mansioni

• Drive submittals, RFIs and procurement so field crews stay ahead of the work.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders.
• Track quantities, production and cost against budget.
• Prepare monthly pay applications and cost projections.
• Support schedule updates and change management.
• Work with VDOT inspectors and owner representatives.
• Keep project documentation clean and current.
• Take part in weekly schedule and cost reviews with the project team.
• Support a strong jobsite safety culture.
