Path to Project Manager

Essenti Talent seeks an Assistant Project Manager for heavy civil highway and utility projects across Virginia. Relocation is available for candidates with DOT experience, and you will work with a senior PM on roadway and VDOT work.

You will drive submittals, RFIs, procurement, and cost tracking while coordinating subcontractors and ensuring schedule adherence. A clear path to Project Manager awaits in a family-owned, long‑established Virginia contractor.

Competenze

• 3+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects.
• VDOT or other DOT project experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and cost tracking.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
• HeavyJob, Bluebeam or P6 experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.

Mansioni

• Drive submittals, RFIs and procurement so field crews stay ahead of the work.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders.
• Track quantities, production and cost against budget.
• Prepare monthly pay applications and cost projections.
• Support schedule updates and change management.
• Work with VDOT inspectors and owner representatives.
• Keep project documentation clean and current.
• Take part in weekly schedule and cost reviews with the project team.
• Support a strong jobsite safety culture.
