Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Lancaster, SC is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to report to the Plant Manager and oversee production scheduling, outsourcing, capacity utilization, material fabrication and welding. This role collaborates with Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, Finance and HR.

You will lead scheduling and production teams, drive Lean manufacturing to improve safety, quality and on-time delivery, ensure adherence to Meyer Quality standards, and manage the master

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role, preferably as an Operations Manager or Assistant Plant Manager.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Ability to relocate.
• Experience in LEAN manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead department managers in Scheduling, Shipping, Fabrication and Welding operations.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
• Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and strategic plans.
• Develop a safe workplace culture and ensure team safety.
• Ensure compliance with Meyer Quality standards and COPQ reduction initiatives.
• Manage the production schedule to meet master production dates.
• Oversee receiving and shipping to ensure materials are available and finished goods meet customers on time.
