UTHealth Houston's School of Dentistry is hiring an Assistant Patient Access Representative to join their Pediatrics department. The role involves working with patients to obtain demographic, insurance, and financial information, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and more. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service, handling inbound/outbound calls, insurance verification, and claim submission. Bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred.

Position Summary: Ensures dental necessity compliance, verifies eligibility, and posts payments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather demographic, insurance, and financial info from patients or guarantors.
• Accurately enter data into the computer system.
• Explain forms to patients and obtain signatures.
• Ensure compliance by reviewing data, communicating with patients, and obtaining signatures.
• Collect patient liabilities, establish payment plans, and discuss options.
• Assist with financial counseling and charity applications.
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility within required timeframes.
• Post payments and generate receipts.
• Communicate professionally with staff, insurance companies, and patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to policies.
• Support professional growth and serve as a resource to others.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience: None required

Physical Requirements: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds frequently.
