Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking an Assistant Operator for the Bag Machine in Portland, OR. The role supports machine setup, material loading, and daily operation to ensure steady production flow.

Responsibilities

• Assist with machine setup and prepare equipment per operator guidance.
• Supply raw materials to the bag machine to maintain production flow.
• Monitor machine operation and report issues to the operator or supervisor.
• Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement as directed.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic repairs under supervision.
• Fill in to run the machine during shift changes as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and adhere to PPE rules.
• Complete production logs and downtime/restart reports as required.
• Collaborate with other teams to support production goals.

Description

• Assistant Operator Machine Bag = $21.00
• Assists with machine setup, prepares machinery for operation by setting up tools, loading materials, and adjusting settings as directed by the primary operator.
• Supplies raw material or component specific to the bag machine as needed, ensuring a steady flow of materials to maintain efficient production levels.
• Monitors bag machine operations, observes the machine during operation to ensure the machine is running as expected, notifying the primary operator or supervisor of any issues or malfunctions.
• Assists with routine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, or replacing parts, adjusting machine settings, or other standard practices to ensure proper operation of the machine and to maintain quality efficiency, and safety standards.
• Troubleshoots minor technical issues, performs minor repairs or adjustments under the guidance of the primary operator or maintenance personnel.
• Ability to fill-in or temporarily run the machine during shift changes, or as necessary.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment by performing standard tasks such as removing debris or waste materials.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, to prevent accidents or injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by safety policies and reports any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate team members.
• Completes production logs or reports as required for documentation purposes, including but not limited to, production output, machine downtime, or any maintenance or repair activities.
• Effectively works with other departments or team members including, maintenance, material handling, quality, inventory, scheduling, supervisors, customer service, or any other members of the production team, management team, or as directed by the supervisor.
• Shifts and hours could vary depending on production requirements. Shift 1 06:00am - 02:00pm. Shift 2 02:00pm - 10:00pm. Shift 3 10:00pm - 24/7 2 week Rotation of 06:00am. 6:00am-06:00pm or 06:00pm-06:00am
• All other duties as assigned.
