Job summary

ProAmpac in White House, TN is hiring an Assistant Bag Machine Operator to support the operation of bag machines and ensure quality production on a 12-hour day shift from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

The role involves threading materials, starting and monitoring equipment, and assisting with maintenance while adhering to GMP and SQF standards. This is a full-time, essential position with competitive benefits included.

Responsibilities

• Assist operator in threading materials through guides and rollers to cutters, gluer, printer, folding device, or sealer.
• Assist in starting machine, observe operation, and adjust to ensure uniform shearing, printing, folding, gluing, or sealing of material into finished bags.
• Insert shaft into core of parent roll and secure with steel collars, mounting roll onto machine, using a hoist.
• Operate the machine to maintain high production and a quality product with minimal waste and set speeds.
• Reference work orders for paper supply and requisition paper from warehouse when necessary.
• Assist in diagnosing machine problems and correct to keep smooth production flow.
• Perform daily maintenance on the machine including oiling, cleaning, re-taping, and scraping down.
• Communicate effectively with other operators and shift teammates during changeovers.
• Adhere to GMP and SQF regulations at all times and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

SCHEDULE: 12hr Days / Rotating 2-2-3 / 7:00am - 7:00pm

The Assistant Bag Machine Operator's is responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the machine ensuring the quality and efficiency of the bags created by the bag machines. The primary responsibility consists of assisting the operator in running and managing the machine that automatically measures, prints, cuts, folds, and glues, or seals to form bags.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

• Assist operator in threading materials from parent roll through guides and rollers to cutters, gluer, printer, folding device, or electric sealer.

• Assist in starting machine, observes operation, and adjusts machine to ensure uniform shearing, printing, folding, gluing, or sealing of continuous roll of material into finished bags.

• May insert shaft into core of parent roll and secure with steel collars, using hand tools, and mount roll onto machine, using hoist.

• Assist in Operating machine in proper manner, maintaining high production and a quality product, with minimum waste, while maintaining set goals of machine speeds

• References work orders for paper supply, and requisitions paper from the warehouse when necessary.

• Assists in diagnosing problems on machines and corrects immediately, to keep smooth production flow.

• Performs daily maintenance on machine including: oiling machine, cleaning drum area of machine, re-taping, and scraping down.

• Communicates well with other operators and teammates at shift change.

• Adheres and maintains equipment to all GMP and SQF regulations at all times.

• Ability to multi-task as well as work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
