Job summary

Providence is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to lead clinical and operational activities on the assigned shift. The ANM reports to the unit director/manager and supports planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services while ensuring care meets professional and regulatory standards.

The role requires a BSN, Texas RN license, and BLS certification on hire, with preferred leadership experience and shared governance involvement to advance unit performance and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required.
• Texas Registered Nurse License required on hire.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required on hire.
• Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
• Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Shared Governance experience preferred.

Job description

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse reporting to the unit director/manager who utilizes the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within assigned shift. The ANM is responsible for supporting the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit and providing managerial presence for all shifts. The ANM is responsible for managing clinical and non-clinical caregivers and providing input to the director/manager for evaluation purposes related to performance. Duties include but not limited to compliance to professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements; implementing and monitoring compliance to policies, processes and clinical priorities, coaching, mentoring and collaborating to deliver quality health care to patients.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree: Graduate from School of nursing (BS, or BSN).
  • Registered Nurses employed in this role prior to November 1, 2024 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
• Upon hire: Texas Registered Nurse License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
