Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking candidates for the Assistant Meter and Relay Technician track, with progression to Journeyman Station Meter and Relay Technician after two years of training and examinations. The role includes assisting with relay standards, data recording, and equipment testing in high voltage environments.

You will work under supervision, gain hands-on experience with protection equipment, meters, and control systems, and may handle demanding outdoor shifts and emergency conditions as

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• A state-issued Journeyman Electrician license.
• Certification in an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Attend technician training schools for relay standards and theory; complete required courses.
• Keep records and files of work performed, reports on outages and trouble, and equipment records.
• Assist relay technicians and perform less complex duties as assigned.
• Install, commission, test, adjust, repair and replace protection and control equipment in substations and HV plants.
• Operate substation equipment and perform switching and grounding as needed.
