Job summary

Gray Construction seeks an Assistant MEP Site Manager (Data Centers) to join its Field Operations Team in Charlotte, NC. This field-based role supports planning, procurement, and on-site coordination for hyperscale data center projects.

You'll assist in coordinating MEP trades, reviewing drawings, and ensuring safety and quality standards while driving schedule adherence and cost control across complex builds.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and a minimum five years related experience and/or training.
• 3+ years of industrial construction experience, with data center or mission-critical experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including power distribution, critical cooling infrastructure, commissioning processes.
• Understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and the ability to effectively lead large field teams.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 or similar construction technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project/Site Manager.
• Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule.
• Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate.
• Assist in pricing work, draft changes and change orders to be reviewed by MEP Project Manager.
• Review all drawings, i.e. P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Determine materials, equipment and tools needed.
