The University of North Carolina Asheville seeks an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach to support the NCAA Division I Soccer program. The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in implementing and directing all phases of a competitive NCAA Division I Soccer program in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics and the University.
A successful candidate for Assistant Coach will assist with essential coaching duties including but not limited to on-field coaching, teaching, skill development, scouting of opponents, and practice planning. The Assistant Coach coordinates office tasks such as mailings, e-mail communication, unofficial and official visits, travel scheduling, equipment inventory, social media, etc. The Assistant Coach also has recruiting responsibilities to identify, encourage and evaluate application and acceptance of student athletes at UNC Asheville in accordance with the Big South Conference the NCAA and University policies as assigned by the head coach.

Required Education/Experience/Skills
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience. Prior high school, club, or collegiate coaching or playing experience.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
Master’s degree preferred. Three to four years of previous collegiate coaching experience. In addition, desired qualifications include demonstrated skills in developing and motivating student-athletes for athletic and academic success at the NCAA Division I level.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Under the direction of the head coach, the assistant coach will assist in all phases of a NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer program in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department and the University including but not limited to; on/off-campus recruiting, assisting with practice and conditioning activities, skill development, scheduling of opponents, academic monitoring of student-athletes, public relations, adherence to rules compliance, participation in clinics and summer camps and professional expectations.
