AMC Global Media in Bethpage, NY is seeking an Assistant, Media Mgmt (Physical Storage) to join our Media Operations & Engineering team. The role handles cataloging, data entry, and physical handling of media assets in our storage systems.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 1+ years in library tape formats, proficiency across macOS, Windows, Linux, and experience with storage interfaces (USB, FireWire, Thunderbolt, eSATA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 1+ years of experience with library tape formats and common file formats.
• Proficient with macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Ability to identify correct cabling/interfaces for external storage devices.
• Strong data management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Catalog, research, retrieve, and ship items; manage collections.
• Monitor and update the library databases to keep items searchable.
• Update data to identify non-owned material for Weeding the collection.
• Pull library materials as needed; arrange shipping to/from facilities.
• Support shipments to third-party storage facilities as required.

We are currently seeking an Assistant, Media Mgmt (Physical Storage) to join our Media Operations & Engineering team in our Bethpage, NY location.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Catalog, research, retrieve, and ship items Assist in managing all collections including B&T Air Masters, 11 Penn tape library masters and show elements, IFCE Asset Library, and MSG Tape Records Library.
• Monitor and update the B&T Library database to ensure items are searchable and exploitable.
• Update data to identify non AMCN owned Material for Weeding the collection.
• Pull Library materials as needed.
• Arrange shipping to and from our facility Including materials requested from 3rd party storage facilities (i.e. Iron Mountain, Fotokem etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred):

• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field OR equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of experience in library tape formats and common file formats
• Proficient computer skills across macOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems
• Ability to identify and work with correct cable and interface types for external storage devices, including USB‑A, USB‑B, USB‑C, FireWire 400/800, Thunderbolt 1/2/3/4, and eSATA
• Proficiency with word processors, text editors, and spreadsheet applications from multiple software vendors, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, macOS Numbers, macOS Pages, LibreOffice, and BBEdit
• Strong organizational and data management skills
• Able to lift heavy boxes/materials

The base compensation for this position is $55,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience.
