Kj’s Market in Greenwood is seeking a Meat/Seafood Department Host to greet guests, stock, and drive sales in a fast-paced grocery setting. You will maintain freshness, safety, and high service standards while supporting team training and department goals.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and selling skills.
• Able to work well with others and interact with guests.

• Willing to supervise and train hosts.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to work in a cold environment.
• Able to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and create a selling environment in the meat/seafood area.
• Meet or exceed budgeted sales, shrink, and profit goals for the department.
• Maintain inventory and order stock to keep shelves full.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and company guidelines.
• Ensure products are fresh and in date.
• Maintain sanitation and safety in all meat/seafood areas and prep zones.
• Provide guidance and training to hosts for performance.
• Handle product prep, receiving, stocking, and guest service.
• Monitor labor levels to optimize department coverage and sales.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all guests receive polite, friendly greetings and interactions from the Beef Shoppe hosts. Creates a selling environment through the use of selling skills.
• Achieves budgeted sales, supply/wrap, shrink and gross profits for the meat and seafood departments.
• Maintains desired level of inventory and supplies for the meat and seafood departments. Ensures in stock conditions through proper ordering.
• Operates the department according to merchandising and operational programs and guidelines.
• Maintains high quality and freshness with products available for sale. Ensures all products are in date.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all areas that come in contact with meat/seafood and in the prep areas, coolers, freezers, and sales floor.
• Provides guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to the meat/seafood department hosts to ensure meat hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards and guests interaction.
• Performs product preparation, receiving, stocking, and guests service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintains the department's labor budget and ensures that optimal hours are scheduled for the department to maximize sales and guests service.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Should possess good interpersonal skills, effective selling skills, and have an outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others. Ability to sell and interact with guests.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of meat/seafood products and operations.
• Ability to supervise hosts including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job, including operating a computer.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
