Job summary

Kj’s Market is hiring for a Meat/Seafood Department Host in a fast-paced retail setting. You will greet guests, assist with selections, and help maintain quality and freshness across meat and seafood products.

Responsibilities include achieving sales goals, managing inventory, training hosts, and ensuring safety and sanitation standards. The role requires physical stamina and ability to work in a cold environment.

Qualifications

• Outgoing personality with strong selling ability.
• Ability to work well with others and interact with guests.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of meat/seafood products and operations.
• Ability to supervise hosts including training.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and create a selling environment in the Meat/Seafood department.
• Achieve budgeted sales, provide stock/wrapping support, and protect gross profits.
• Maintain inventory and ensure in-stock conditions through proper ordering.
• Operate department per merchandising and operational guidelines.
• Maintain quality and freshness, ensure products are in date.
• Uphold safety and sanitation standards in meat/seafood areas and prep zones.
• Provide guidance and training to department hosts for performance.
• Perform product prep, receiving, stocking, and guest service as needed.
• Manage labor budgeting and scheduling for the department to maximize sales.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all guests receive polite, friendly greetings and interactions from the Beef Shoppe hosts. Creates a selling environment through the use of selling skills.
• Achieves budgeted sales, supply/wrap, shrink and gross profits for the meat and seafood departments.
• Maintains desired level of inventory and supplies for the meat and seafood departments. Ensures in stock conditions through proper ordering.
• Operates the department according to merchandising and operational programs and guidelines.
• Maintains high quality and freshness with products available for sale. Ensures all products are in date.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all areas that come in contact with meat/seafood and in the prep areas, coolers, freezers, and sales floor.
• Provides guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to the meat/seafood department hosts to ensure meat hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards and guests interaction.
• Performs product preparation, receiving, stocking, and guests service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintains the department's labor budget and ensures that optimal hours are scheduled for the department to maximize sales and guests service.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Should possess good interpersonal skills, effective selling skills, and have an outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others. Ability to sell and interact with guests.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of meat/seafood products and operations.
• Ability to supervise hosts including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job, including operating a computer.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to work in a cold environment.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
