Job summary

Big Blue Swim School – Short Hills, NJ is hiring an Assistant Manager to open the new location and lead day-to-day operations, build a strong team, and deliver an outstanding experience for families and staff.

As the right hand to the General Manager, you’ll supervise hourly swim staff, ensure safety and curriculum standards, coach team members, and maintain facilities and water quality while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven experience managing large hourly teams.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Sales experience.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable working in the pool as needed.
• Enthusiastic about working with kids and helping them grow.
• Positive, fun-loving attitude.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and move throughout the facility to interact with staff and customers.
• Certifications (lifeguard, CPR, CPO) will be provided through training.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and communicate with families to share progress updates.
• Oversee building operations, including cleanliness and water quality.
• Monitor student progress and curriculum advancement.
• Coach Swim Associates in safe, engaging swim lessons.
• Ensure safety procedures and curriculum standards are followed.
• Maintain required certifications and enforce safety protocols.
