Job summary

FiveStar Food Mart in Mayfield, KY seeks an Assistant Manager to partner with the General Manager in overseeing store operations, including accounting, marketing, customer service, HR, and food service. Responsibilities include training staff, ensuring inventory levels and displays, maintaining service standards, managing scheduling, and contributing to P&L understanding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of retail management experience and/or equivalent education.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Team player, customer focused, honest, hardworking, and excellent attendance.
• Basic Computer Skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with General Manager to assist in managing store operations including accounting, marketing, customer service, HR and food service.
• Direct and support store team to meet company policies, procedures and standards.
• Assist in on-the-job training and coaching of staff.
• Educate store team on policies and communications.
• Help address store issues to ensure long-term problem resolution.
• Oversee merchandising, inventory levels, displays, pricing, signage and out-of-stocks.
• Support inventory control, equipment maintenance, staffing, labor budget, and timely accounting tasks.
• Oversee food operation quality, appearance of service areas, promotions and signage.
• Assist in store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
• Learn and understand P&L statements.
