Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring for winter seasonal retail management positions in Colorado. You will lead daily operations, train staff, manage scheduling and payroll, and ensure exceptional guest service in a fast-paced store environment.

The role requires 1-3 years of retail management experience (ski industry preferred), strong English communication, and flexibility to work nights, holidays, and weekends. Starting wage ranges from $25.00 to $28.60 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations, scheduling and payroll; act as manager-on-duty when needed.
• Maintain daily records for performance, sales metrics, inventory, and rentals.
• Hire and train employees in POS operation, product knowledge, guest service, and loss prevention.
• Monitor team performance and provide feedback and recognition as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and deliver excellent service to customers.
• Participate in leadership forums to discuss store performance and improvements.
• Other duties including merchandising and rentals as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations, monitoring performance and budget including scheduling and payroll; act as manager-on- duty in the absence of a Store Manager
• Maintain daily store records for performance, sales metrics, inventory control and equipment rentals (if applicable)
• Hire and train employees in POS system operation, product knowledge, guest service, sales techniques and loss prevention policies and procedures
• Monitor team performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, providing recognition or correction action if necessary
• Maintain up to date product knowledge and provide excellent customer service through timely response to customer questions, suggestions, complaints, and recognition
• Participate with leadership forums providing feedback and input on store performance, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned, including specialty areas like merchandising and rentals.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; Business area training or education preferred
• 1-3 years of retail management experience; ski industry preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, multitask and manage multiple customers
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English

The expected pay range is$25.00 - $28.60 /hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
