Job summary

Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, VT is hiring for a Winter Seasonal Retail Management role (2026/2027). Lead daily operations, scheduling, payroll, and store performance; serve as manager-on-duty when needed; ensure top‑notch guest service and accurate records while upholding our brand standards.

Starting wage: $25.00–$28.60/hr. Benefits include free employee ski passes, lodging and gear discounts, 401(k), training and development, and an employee referral program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; customer service experience preferred.
• 1-3 years of retail management experience; ski industry preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations, scheduling, payroll, and store performance; act as manager-on-duty when the Store Manager is absent.
• Maintain daily store records for performance and inventory where applicable.
• Hire and train employees in POS operation, product knowledge, guest service, and loss prevention policies.
• Provide timely feedback and direction to team, recognizing or correcting as needed.
• Keep up-to-date product knowledge and deliver excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations, monitoring performance and budget including scheduling and payroll; act as manager-on- duty in the absence of a Store Manager
• Maintain daily store records for performance, sales metrics, inventory control and equipment rentals (if applicable)
• Hire and train employees in POS system operation, product knowledge, guest service, sales techniques and loss prevention policies and procedures
• Monitor team performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, providing recognition or correction action if necessary
• Maintain up to date product knowledge and provide excellent customer service through timely response to customer questions, suggestions, complaints, and recognition
• Participate with leadership forums providing feedback and input on store performance, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned, including specialty areas like merchandising and rentals

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; Business area training or education preferred
• 1-3 years of retail management experience; ski industry preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, multitask and manage multiple customers
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English

The expected pay range is $25.00 - $28.60 /hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
