Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System in Springfield, IL is seeking an Assistant Manager-Nursing to help lead the Med Surge unit. The role includes patient care oversight, staff supervision, and workflow development for efficient operations.

Requirements include RN licensure in the state, BLS, and at least 2 years as a staff nurse in acute care, with 2 years in a charge/lead role preferred. This is a full-time night-shift leadership position with competitive pay.

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and licensure for the state of practice.
  • Bachelor’s of science in nursing is preferred.
  • 2 years staff nurse experience in an acute setting required.
  • 2 years in a charge nurse/lead nurse role preferred.
  • Licensed RN in state of practice required with BLS; ACLS may be required.

  • Oversee unit/department operations including patient care and staffing.
  • Assist in hiring, transferring, and performance improvement activities.
  • Develop workflows and prepare operational reports.
  • Collaborate with care teams to ensure excellence in patient care.

Pay Range: $41.58 - $62.37 A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education. Under the direction of Nursing leadership, the Assistant Manager-Nursing assists in the oversight of functional area(s) of the unit and/or department including: patient care; hiring; transferring; performance improvement; assigning duties; and rewards. Develops general workflows for department/unit and prepares timely operational reports. Develops and administers proper protocols for department and/or unit. Assists in the direct supervision of unit and staff. Is a champion for patient care. Collaborates with other care team providers to assure team provides excellence in patient care.

Education Qualifications Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required. Bachelor’s of science in nursing is preferred.

Experience Qualifications 2 years staff nurse (RN) in an acute setting is required. 2 years experience in a charge nurse, lead nurse, or related position is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required. Wisconsin: RNs may practice with a valid multi-state RN license as outlined in the Nurse Licensure Compact rules. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required where necessary.
