Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System in Decatur, IL seeks an Assistant Manager-Nursing to help oversee the Emergency Department. The role includes patient care oversight, hiring, performance improvement, and staff leadership, with a focus on developing workflows and ensuring high-quality patient care.

The position is evenings (3-11) with 40 hours per week; requires RN licensure in the state and a Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred. ACLS/CPR certifications are noted as required or may be necessary.

  • Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience in an acute care setting.
  • 2 years charge nurse or lead nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in oversight of unit/department functions including patient care, hiring, performance improvement, and staff assignments.
  • Develop workflows and prepare operational reports; administer department protocols.
  • Supervise unit staff and champion patient care; collaborate with care team providers to ensure excellence.

Pay & Compensation

Pay Range: $41.58 - $62.37 A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

Position Overview

Under the direction of Nursing leadership, the Assistant Manager-Nursing assists in the oversight of functional area(s) of the unit and/or department including: patient care; hiring; transferring; performance improvement; assigning duties; and rewards.

Develops general workflows for department/unit and prepares timely operational reports. Develops and administers proper protocols for department and/or unit. Assists in the direct supervision of unit and staff. Is a champion for patient care. Collaborates with other care team providers to assure team provides excellence in patient care.

Education & Experience

Bachelors Nursing Preferred

2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting is required. 2 years' experience in a charge nurse lead nurse or related position is preferred.

  • Certificate License Registration Registered Nurse (RN)
  • License in the state of practice Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required where necessary
  • CPR certification is required
