Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide exceptional customer service

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, bookkeeping, and loss prevention
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized, and protect company assets
• Ensure a clean, safe store environment and compliance with policies and procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, respectful environment in interactions with customers and staff
• Other duties as assigned
