Job summary

Avenue Café at MGM Grand in Las Vegas is seeking a Restaurant Assistant Manager to lead daily operations, inspire a hospitality team, and deliver memorable dining experiences on the iconic Strip.

You will plan shifts, supervise service, coach staff, coordinate with chefs, manage inventory and supplies, and ensure guest needs and large reservations are handled with care by collaborating with management.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age or older.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience.
• 3+ years of relevant food and beverage supervisory/management experience.
• Working knowledge of Culinary Union contracts preferred.
• Able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Make daily floor plans per shift to ensure proper rotation and coverage.
• Supervise floor service in dining rooms during hours of operation.
• Perform employee evaluations and manage attendance records.
• Maintain communication with the Chef on food service and menu issues.
• Coordinate with management, chefs and staff to fulfill guest needs and requests.
• Order supplies via IP System and Purchasing; prepare purchase requisitions.
• Keep inventory forms and stocking areas updated.
• Inspect food coming from support departments for freshness and quality.
• Communicate with guests for special requests and large party reservations.

THE JOB:

As the Restaurant Assistant Manager at Avenue Café inside MGM Grand , you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional dining experiences in one of the most iconic destinations on the Las Vegas Strip. THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Make daily floor plans per shift to ensure proper rotation and coverage of stations
• Supervise floor service in dining rooms during hours of operation
• Perform employee evaluations and manage issues related to attendance records
• Maintain communication with the Chef on all food service and menu issues
• Communicate with management, chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address issues or needs requested by guests and employees
• Order supplies through the IP System and Purchasing; prepare purchase requisitions for any outlets from the warehouse or support departments
• Keep inventory form and stocking area updated
• Inspect food coming from support departments to assure freshness and quality
• Maintain direct communication with guests for special requests and large party reservations

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 21+ years of age or older
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
• 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience
• 3+ years of relevant food and beverage experience in a supervisory or management role preferred
• Working knowledge of Culinary Union contracts preferred
• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
