Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas seeks a Restaurant Assistant Manager for Avenue Café inside MGM Grand to lead daily operations and deliver outstanding dining experiences.

You will supervise service, coordinate with chefs and staff, manage attendance, and ensure guest satisfaction while maintaining budgets and inventory. Experience in supervisory F&B roles and willingness to work varied shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in food & beverage.
• Knowledge of Culinary Union contracts preferred.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Make daily floor plans per shift for proper station rotation and coverage.
• Supervise floor service during hours of operation.
• Perform employee evaluations and manage attendance issues.
• Coordinate with Chef on food service and menu issues.
• Communicate with management, chefs and staff to address guest/employee needs.
• Order supplies through IP System and Purchasing; prepare requisitions.
• Maintain inventory forms and stocking areas.
• Inspect food from support departments for freshness and quality.
• Engage with guests for special requests and large parties.

THE JOB:

As the Restaurant Assistant Manager at Avenue Café inside MGM Grand, you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional dining experiences in one of the most iconic destinations on the Las Vegas Strip. Leading daily restaurant operations, you will inspire and support your team while creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every guest. By anticipating needs, building genuine connections, and showcasing a passion for hospitality, you will turn everyday moments into unforgettable experiences and create WOW memories that extend far beyond each guest's visit.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Make daily floor plans per shift to ensure proper rotation and coverage of stations
• Supervise floor service in dining rooms during hours of operation
• Perform employee evaluations and manage issues related to attendance records
• Maintain communication with the Chef on all food service and menu issues
• Communicate with management, chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address issues or needs requested by guests and employees
• Order supplies through the IP System and Purchasing; prepare purchase requisitions for any outlets from the warehouse or support departments
• Keep inventory form and stocking area updated
• Inspect food coming from support departments to assure freshness and quality
• Maintain direct communication with guests for special requests and large party reservations

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 21+ years of age or older
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

• 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience
• 3+ years of relevant food and beverage experience in a supervisory or management role preferred
• Working knowledge of Culinary Union contracts preferred

• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
