Job summary

Halfords is seeking an Assistant Manager to work alongside the Centre Manager, balancing workshop duties with daily sales and customer service. You will lead a team of technicians, drive profitability, and shape the customer journey in a busy autotech centre.

The role requires hands-on mechanical knowledge or management experience in a similar environment, plus coaching and training of colleagues. A path to progression and comprehensive training are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership.
• Experience in coaching, training, and developing colleagues in the moment.
• Strong technical/mechanical knowledge, ideally supported by a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience).
• Solid understanding of workshop operations, diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance processes.

• Lead and mentor workshop technicians while coordinating with the Centre Manager.
• Drive profitability and manage daily sales and customer service.
• Ensure high standards of health and safety and compliance in a busy workshop.
