Job summary

ROC is seeking a Store Operations Associate to assist the store manager with daily duties in a busy Wilkesboro location. You will help drive sales, maintain store appearance, ensure accurate inventory, and supervise team members in the manager’s absence.

You will contribute to friendly, efficient customer service, oversee merchandising, cash control, and reporting, and support implementation of company standards to strengthen ROC’s reputation as a hometown store.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of retail management and people management is a plus.
• Some knowledge of store operations—merchandising, inventory control, cash control—required.

POSITION SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for assisting the store manager with day-to-day store operations. Assists with sales, store appearance, customer service, inventory, and management of employees, within established guidelines. Leads and directs store employees and supervises their performance, especially I n the absence of the store manager. Takes initiative to improve customer service, drive store sales, and meet or exceed store goals/profitability. Maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards. Emphasizes team efforts. Helps model and set the tone for interaction with the customers and employees. Understands how that influences the public perception of ROC.

Requirements

Knowledge and Education

• High school graduation or equivalent, preferred.
• Knowledge of retail management and people management, a plus.
• Some knowledge of store operations, required – merchandising, inventory control, cash control.

Experience

• One year experience in retail management, C-store clerk, or store operations position.
• Experience and knowledge in the areas of management, financial reporting, customer service, inventory management, and other related operational areas.
• Demonstrated effective track record as store clerk.

Skills and Abilities

• Good verbal and written communication skills. Good people and customer interaction skills.
• Skills in areas of leadership, teaching, and motivating employees.
• Demonstrated attentiveness to details; mathematical analytical ability. Use of calculator.
• Good computer skills, e.g. point of sale system.
