Role Description

The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Rochester Hills, MI, responsible for supporting daily operations of the indoor playground facility. This role oversees staff scheduling, team supervision, and front-of-house activities to ensure smooth check-ins, efficient customer service, and high-quality guest experiences. The Assistant Manager helps coordinate birthday parties, group events, and open play sessions, ensuring spaces are prepared, safety standards are followed, and transitions between events are well managed. The role includes monitoring cleanliness and safety throughout the facility, resolving guest concerns, managing basic inventory and supplies, and assisting with cash handling and point-of-sale operations. The Assistant Manager also contributes to local marketing initiatives, supports staff training, and collaborates with the General Manager to meet operational and revenue goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles, with strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
• Background in team leadership or supervision, including scheduling, coaching, and performance support.
• Ability to manage day-to-day operations, including event coordination, time management, and basic administrative tasks.
• Knowledge of safety and cleanliness standards applicable to family entertainment or recreation environments.
• Comfort using point-of-sale systems, basic computer applications, and handling cash and electronic payments.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, caregivers, staff, and vendors.
• Ability to work on-site, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to support business needs.
• Prior experience in hospitality, retail, childcare, or family entertainment settings is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality, business, or related fields is a plus.
• Capacity to stand, walk, and move actively in a busy indoor environment, and to assist with light lifting or setup for events.
