Job summary

Starfish Hospitality Group is seeking a restaurant Manager to lead daily operations and a high-performing team across our upscale concepts. You will supervise shifts, ensure quality, and uphold health and safety standards to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Join a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on service excellence, staff development, and collaboration with sales and catering teams for events. Prior restaurant leadership and ServSafe certification are valued.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of restaurant management experience.
  • Prior experience as a server or bartender.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.
  • 40-50 hour work week, estimated.
  • Possess a strong work ethic.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant as an integral part of the management team.
  • Cooperates and communicates effectively with executives, departmental leads, and team members.
  • Manage shifts including daily decision making, planning, upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels by delivering high quality food and excellent service to all patrons.
  • Maintain restaurant image, including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Ensure positive guest service and resolve complaints politely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with sales and catering teams to promote and book events.
  • Perform opening and/or closing duties, and financial duties in accordance with policies.
  • Complete vendor invoices and payroll related administrative duties on time.
  • Plan staffing and prepare schedules for all shifts.
  • Participate in hiring and training of new team members.
  • Conduct orientation and oversee training of new employees.

Job Summary

Starfish is currently seeking exceptional candidates to join our team. We are searching for friendly, energetic, highly motived individuals, who will thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented restaurant environment.

The Manager assists the General Manager with their duties and leads the operation of the restaurant during their scheduled hours. As a Manager, you are responsible for directing the daily operations of the restaurant while also ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations and company standards in all areas of the operation.

The role of a Manager is ever evolving and not all daily duties and expectations will be covered in the overview below.

Job Duties
  • Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant as an integral part of the management team.
  • Cooperates and communicates effectively with executives, departmental leads, and team members.
  • Manage shifts including but not limited to daily decision making, planning, upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels by always delivering high quality food and excellent service to all patrons.
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to and resolve complaints in a polite, effective, and friendly manner.
  • Helping with the duties of other team members and departments, when necessary, because of an unexpected absence or extra volume.
  • Collaborating with sales and catering teams to promote and book events.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Must be ServSafe certified and uphold all ServSafe guidelines.
  • Enforce sanitary and safety practices for food handing and general cleanliness by applying company policies and health department laws and regulations.
  • Follows security procedures to protect employees, guests, and company assets.
  • Completes accident reports promptly if a guest or employee is injured.
  • Perform opening and/or closing duties, and financial duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all vendor invoices and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs and prepare schedules to guarantee that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
  • Team Building and Retention
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
  • Creating a positive team atmosphere among staff that encourages cooperative effort, team spirit, respect, and good morale.
  • Contribute to the development of staff by participating in the hiring and training of new team members.
  • Conduct orientation, explain the Starfish Philosophy, and oversee the training of new employees.
