Job summary

Sightglass Coffee is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in Berkeley. You will lead shift operations, uphold service standards, and coach staff to deliver a superior guest experience.

In addition to managing daily tasks, you will handle customer incidents, oversee scheduling, cash handling, and inventory-related duties, stepping up with sound judgment when the manager is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in retail or hospitality supervision.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to coach and develop staff.

Responsibilities

Overview

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager by ensuring an efficient and productive workflow throughout their assigned shift. In the absence of a Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will assume cafe responsibility and serve as the person in charge. ASMs are expected to be aware of the needs of the business, manage the counter flow, and delegate tasks to the operating team. ASMs are responsible for sharing feedback with management regarding shift outcomes and business needs. They must have stellar communication skills, display leadership talent, and exercise excellent judgment.
