Job summary

Assistant Maintenance Manager at our South Square community in Durham, NC, reports to the Service Manager and oversees all service personnel. The role includes managing maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks to keep residences clean, safe, and attractive.

The position supports after-hours calls and coordination with the management team. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, an HVAC/EPA certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English.
• Prior experience reflecting overall general mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Valid Driver’s License (if operating a vehicle)
• EPA Certificate for Freon Recovery; HVAC Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Abides by Fair Housing Laws.
• Assumes managerial, supervisory, coordination, and administrative duties in the absence of the Service Manager.
• Handles HVAC, plumbing, painting, drywall, tile, carpentry, welding, and electrical repairs.
• Responds promptly to service calls.
• Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical and lawn care equipment.
• Supervises and participates on-site in the general maintenance and repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.
