Job summary

Comstock Companies is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the day-to-day operations and leadership of the engineering and maintenance team at a luxury multifamily community in Charlotte, NC.

You will help ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of building systems, supervise technicians, coordinate repairs, and maintain 100% uptime. The role includes on-call duties and hands-on maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• EPA 608/CFC Certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in multi-family housing or mid-/large-scale facility operations.
• Customer-focused with problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations and leadership of the engineering and maintenance team.
• Assist with supervising Maintenance Technicians and coordinating repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on apartments, amenity spaces, and equipment.
• Handle after-hours emergencies on a rotating on-call basis.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and appliances.
• Prepare apartments for new resident move-ins to luxury standards.
• Maintain, repair, and replace HVAC systems.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and general property upkeep.
• Support additional duties to ensure smooth community operations.
