Assistant Maintenance Manager

Job Description Summary

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to lead team members in repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, primarily conveyor and sorting systems, at our locations in the dynamic logistics and fulfillment industry.

Expertise with conveyor systems is strongly preferred.

Duties include:
  1. Assign job plans and manage all C&W Services maintenance team members at the site, relying on experience and judgment to achieve departmental goals.
  2. Promote C&W Services both internally and externally, demonstrating leadership and sound judgment in decision-making.
  3. Assist in developing standards and work procedures, providing feedback on work orders and service delivery discrepancies.
  4. Maintain positive relations with customers and employees.
  5. Ensure departmental objectives and key metrics are met.
  6. Serve as a liaison to the Account Manager, Planners, Customers, and Department.
  7. Lead team members through coaching and mentoring with high standards.
  8. Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  9. Oversee applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  10. Develop and oversee QA/QC inspection protocols for all work personnel and work performed.
  11. Achieve performance expectations as outlined in performance appraisals.
  12. Communicate with team members to support the development of short- and long-term goals.
Requirements include:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, Management, or a related field (preferred), or transferrable management experience (minimum 3 years, 5 years preferred).
  2. Ability to obtain CMRP / ICML MLT 1 certification.
  3. Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance performed according to established standards.
  4. Proficiency with basic and power tools, shop math, pneumatics, power transmissions, parts nomenclature, measurements, and fasteners.
  5. Ability to operate heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, and boom lifts.
  6. Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, as required.
